I am Robert A. Franklin. Welcome to my website. My academic credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Radio-Television Broadcasting and a Master's Degree in English/Communication from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi and the Ph.D. degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
My masters thesis was entitled, "The Effects of Local Television News on Jackson State University Students: An Analysis of the Interpretation of News Broadcast in the Jackson, Mississippi Market."
My doctoral dissertation was entitled, "Reconciliation and The Elaine, Arkansas Race Riot of 1919: Forgive or Forget"
In 1983, as the public affairs director for WJSU-FM 88.5 at Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi, I produced newscasts, public affairs and community oriented programs; worked closely with members of the community, radio staff and the university. I also helped to produce, "Tiger Talk," a WJSU-FM sports show that aired during halftime and after each football game.
